The following procedure will reset the Electronic Throttle Control:
1) Turn off the ignition switch.
2) Press and hold the accelerator pedal fully down at least five seconds after turning off the ignition switch. You must continue holding it down during this entire procedure.
3) Step on the brake pedal and hold it down for at least 10 seconds after turning off the ignition switch. You must continue holding it down during this entire procedure.
4) Repeat steps 2 and 3 three times in a row within 15 seconds of each other (i.e., step on brake pedal, hold down for ten seconds; step on brake pedal again, hold down for ten seconds; step on brake pedal again).
5) Step off the brake pedal and allow the car to coast to a stop.
6) Repeat steps 1 through 5 until you have completed 20 repetitions.
